AGE: Like most in her canon, Mona does not have a confirmed age. However, she does rent her own home and live alone (as well as having moved away from her parents), so we can assume that she is over 18. Due to her behavior and occupation, I believe she comfortably sits in her early twenties.
CANON: Genshin Impact
CANON POINT: 4.2, after Mona spoke with the Traveler about her Master and offered her help.

SUITABILITY: Mona meets the minimum age of fifteen. While Genshin Impact does not delve into sexuality, the bonds between its characters are important and I believe Mona can facilitate wildly different relationships depending on her understanding of others. She is strong-willed, easy to fluster, and has little knowledge regarding romance or sexual encounters. Mona has never been pushed to pursue either, too busy studying astrology. How would experiencing them shape her? Is it possible for her to overcome the embarrassment from being so vulnerable and be more confident in herself? Will she learn to actually flirt with someone? I'm super interested in seeing her develop in an area of her life she's severely lacking expertise in.

ABILITIES:

In the land of Teyvat, Visions are bestowed by Celestia and the Seven Archons upon those with powerful desires. They allow its user to harness one respective Element, which include Anemo (wind), Geo (rock), Electro (lightning), Dendro (grass), Hydro (water), Pyro (fire), and Cryo (ice). It comes in the form of a gem in varying sizes with a symbol that designates which Element it is in favor of.

Mona is in possession of a Hydro Vision, therefore most of her abilities and attacks are water-related. She uses it both in combat, and as an astrologist to study the stars, fate in itself, and the truth of the world around her.

If she is ever completely un-nerfed in the future, then these are all of Mona's abilities! Otherwise, I'm positive she'll just be satisfied in knowing that she can summon a bit of Hydro to do her divination with. The other skills are less important.

▮ DIVINATION THROUGH HYDROMANCY: A skill that does not require her Vision, though it does make the practice easier for her. By observing the appearance of water, its surface, and its movements, Mona can discern one's fate, the future, and truths about them. If her Vision is in possession, she can manifest a scryglass out of Hydro and peer into its contents to determine the future. Otherwise, her medium can be, say, a puddle or glass of water.

Mona cannot see everything, nor does she have the power to change fate. I like to think these are mere glimpses if the future is overwhelming, vast, or uncertain, but pretty on-point if it's something like, "when do we see each other again?" or "what is the weather like next week?"

▮ RIPPLE OF FATE: This is considered her "normal" attack. Mona can perform four water splashes in succession that deal Hydro damage. If she charges her magic, then the damage will burst a bit stronger than previously. Upon gathering a large sum of Hydro, she has the ability to jump and plunge towards the ground, resulting in Mona damaging all nearby opponents.

▮ MIRROR REFLECTION OF DOOM: An elemental skill that allows Mona to create an illusory Phantom of Fate from coalesced waterspouts. The "phantom" is basically just a water-based image of a mini Mona sticking her tongue out to taunt enemies and draw them in as a distraction. It continuously deals Hydro damage to those near it, and when its duration expires, it will explode and deal more Hydro damage. Only one Phantom created by Mirror Reflection of Doom can exist at any time. It lasts for an entirety of five seconds.

▮ STELLARIS PHANTOM: Mona's final attack. Here, Mona summons large, rippling waves and creates a reflection of the starry sky, subsequently applying a status effect known as Illusory Bubble to those around her. This effect traps opponents in a "pocket of destiny" (or, a swell of Hydro speckled in stars) and gives them the Wet affliction—in simple terms, they're drenched and susceptible to other Elements (which can result in an Elemental Reaction) and any further damage Mona gives them. Those with weaker dispositions may be stunned and considered immobile.

When affected by Illusory Bubble, Mona will apply an Omen to her opponent that gives her a damage bonus, as well as an increase of damage to the attack that caused it. When Illusory Bubble is active on an enemy, there is a constellation-like marking, and when Omen is active, a twinkly purple aura instead. If she deals a second attack to a victim of Illusory Bubble, it will remove the status effect and deal Hydro damage.

▮ ILLUSORY TORRENT: A fun one! If Mona desires speed, she can cloak herself in water and dive quite literally into a torrent-like puddle, coasting quickly across the ground. She moves particularly fast over bodies of water. Those around her will be afflicted with the Wet status. Using Illusory Torrent for two seconds in the proximity of an opponent will give Mona the ability to create a quick Phantom.

▮ TELEPORTATION: Straight to the point, Mona can teleport herself and those she touches using her Hydro Vision. This hasn't been very heavily elaborated upon, so we don't know the limits of this ability. From what we have seen, Mona can teleport both short and long distances with ease.

VICES:

✦ PRIDE: Due to having been essentially adopted by one of the most powerful astrologists in her world, Mona has the deep desire to surpass her Master. She has studied her entire life to become the best of the best, and due to how much knowledge she has ascertained over the years, Mona has become very big-headed. When deciding on a name for herself, she quite literally chose one that means "The Great Astrologist Mona" when translated... because she absolutely believes she is the greatest. Mona will compliment herself often in front of others, boast her prowess and accomplishments, and eagerly accept any praise she receives. If she can squeeze it into the conversation, passing remarks about how incredible of an astrologist she is won't go unsaid.

✦ PRODIGAL: Mona's entire world revolves around astrology, both researching and studying it. It is such a deep fixation that she spends all of her money and resources on astrological equipment and apparatus. It happens before she even realizes it—when she receives pay for her contribution to an astrology column in a popular newspaper, she immediately runs to the nearest store and spends all of it. Every penny. Mona will walk away with the most expensive textbooks in hand and the newest appliance with little thought towards her well-being. This inevitably comes back to bite her in the butt when she fails to pay her housing bill on time or can't buy groceries. Mona has been said to have survived on only mushrooms for a month before, as well as in the wilderness camping because she couldn't afford shelter. Despite her bad financial decisions, she still ends up right back where she started... at the register with purse in hand.

VIRTUES:

✦ HONEST: As an astrologist, Mona has had countless people come to her for readings. They usually ask for her to divine their future, and Mona readily agrees. However, more often than not, the fate she ends up reading into is unfortunate. "When is my missing son going to be found?" "Do they love me or not?" "Will I ever recover?" Mona values astrology as a noble art, and thus will never lie about her findings. She will reveal the truth even if her honesty brings about resentment. To most, the pain and disappointment received would be too much to bear, but Mona says that because she is a genius, she is able to accomplish what others cannot. She remains true to herself and astrology regardless of whether it will give her hardship.

✦ HOPEFUL: Because she has glimpsed the truth of the universe and the fate of so many, you'd think Mona would have resigned to fate in itself. She has said before that fate cannot be reversed or changed, but only accepted. And yet, Mona also believes in miracles. It contradicts what she has been taught, to not struggle against the current and change the future. Mona still wants to take on her own destiny and carve her path, perhaps bringing about a miracle in the process. Is everything really predetermined? Is there no way to resist? Mona refuses to sit and take it. Despite it all, she wants everyone to be happy and healthy, and for that, she seeks out what is said to not exist. This hope is persevering; Mona won't give up!

SURVEY

▶ I REGULARLY MAKE NEW FRIENDS.
▷ 4, AGREE. So long as she herself is respected, Mona can make friends fairly easily. She is both approachable and kind. For those with difficult personalities, she is able to amend herself appropriately to match their flow but without undermining herself in the process. She did this with her extremely eccentric friend, Fischl.

▶ SEEING OTHER PEOPLE CRY MAKES ME WANT TO CRY TOO.
▷ 2, DISAGREE. While Mona is compassionate, there's a level of mental strength that she possesses that allows her to stay composed in the presence of tears. That does not mean she will not offer her support or a shoulder to cry on.

▶ I OFTEN MAKE A BACKUP PLAN FOR A BACKUP PLAN.
▷ 4, AGREE. She's pretty tactical and likely has things planned out in advance. Mona isn't sloppy, and her foresight allows her to prepare herself in most scenarios.

▷ 4, AGREE. Even if her heart hurts for someone else, Mona will follow her head and be logical rather than get caught in her feelings. This is most obvious in the fact that she will always reveal the honest, usually hurtful truth, to those who come to her for readings, even if she knows lying would avoid unhappiness. She does this because she believes that astrologists must remain sensible. However, Mona is still a bit of a softie internally.

Mona knew about Fontaine's terrible prophecy, so she stressed to the Traveler to be careful and avoid certain disaster. Though, she was not overcome with anxiety, either, and was able to leave them to their own discretion.

• DIAMONDS — Mona lacks the drive to pursue anyone; she just hasn't been interested enough. Having her body go against her wishes and desire someone else would be very overwhelming and new for her. It provides enough struggle to make things interesting and presents a possibility of future security if her limits are challenged. If she can overcome this, then she may feel more comfortable with the overall setting.
• HEARTS — Mona tries to present herself as composed, so I would enjoy writing her losing her inhibitions to emotions she rarely ever fusses over. And as said above, it could lead to her actually pursuing others! She is used to having admirers, but being the one longing for and trying to win the attention/affection of someone else is foreign to her. Can Mona withstand herself if she's lovesick or moody? I'd love to explore it.
